AMCIS 2009: Track: Analytical Modeling

The track Analytical Modeling is sponsored and organized by SIGMAS as one of the official tracks of the AMCIS 2009, San Francisco, California, August 6 - 9, 2009.
Track co-chairs:
      - Joseph Barjis, Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands)
      - Ashish Gupta, Minnesota State University Moorhead (USA)

Track Description

The main focus of this track is on the application, role, and importance of Analytical Modeling, and especially Modeling and Simulation in the context of information systems, enterprise information systems, organizational issues, business systems. This track is assumed to become a major outlet for researchers, practitioners, and educators interested in the theory and application of Modeling & Simulation. With a large number of senior founding members from the international community, we do expect that this track will attract a significant number of contributions by PhD researchers as well as senior researchers practicing the art of modeling and simulation. The track will also attract teachers of the Modeling & Simulation discipline. Modeling & Simulation is extensively offered within the IS, IT and CS majors. There is a growing interest in this field from educational and curriculum perspective too.
This track will consist of several mini-tracks on interrelated topics. Examples of potential mini-tracks are suggested below.

We welcome proposals for organization of mini-tracks under the umbrella of this track. A Minitrack can include a number of paper sessions, workshops, and panels on any topic considered part of the SIGMAS community.
